For me, Project Three reminded me of Project Two in the sense that we were given the opportunity to be more creative with our assignment.
I’ve had a little experience using WordPress in the past, but I had never spent this must time customizing it as my own. For Project Three, I decided to branch from my original theme, music. This time, I focused on hard copies of music, rather than digital. I thought it would be fun to imagine if I had my own vintage music store. Thus, Vinyl-ly Vintage was born.
I first began by choosing my WordPress theme Alara and then changed the layout, fonts, and color scheme to match my vintage music theme. I also used a few different Plugins (Simple Custom CSS and JS, WooCommerce and Poptin) to adjust design of my page and to make it look like a real shop.
I think my biggest struggle for this assignment was finding my way around WordPress to create what I envisioned for my project. I ran into several issues where I would make certain changes to certain, and those changes also ended up on other pages. I found myself constantly going back and forth making adjustments and checking if those adjustments were corrected in other areas.
Overall, I feel like I learned a lot from this unit and this project. I think it would be interesting to develop websites for business in the future.
